|President George W. Bush signs H.R. 218, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004," which exempts qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from State laws that prohibit the carrying of concealed firearms, in the Roosevelt Room Thursday, July 22, 2004.
HR 218 (Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act) course is offered to both current and retired law enforcement officers.
HR 218 allows officers and retired officers with a minimum of 10 years in good standing (unless due to a service-connected disability) the ability to carry in all 50 states. This is a one-year renewable permit.
Participants are required to score a minimum of 70% in a shooting exercise and demonstrate the ability to proficiently use a handgun as well as meeting all other requirements as prescribed by this federal act. Click here for more info. Private classes held frequently on an as needed basis.
