Chris Kellett is a Certified Firearms Instructor to teach MN Permit to Carry, Permit Renewal, Basic Handgun for beginning shooters, and to qualify current and retired Law Enforcement Officers in the Use of Deadly Force so they can obtain the 50-state carry permit through the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 (LEOSA), also known as H.R. 218. Chris specializes in Women's Carry and her new class Women's Basic Handgun and Permit to Carry has received great reviews and much in demand.
Chris also specializes in non-lethal personal safety training, particularly victim prevention and self defense for women of all ages as well as businesses.
Chris is also an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer and NRA Certified Refuse to Be a Victim Instructor and is also an NRA Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program Instructor for youth.
Chris is a gun owner, active target shooter, permit to carry holder, 2nd Amendment activist and speaker & Constitutional purist.
Chris is a former 2012 Candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives, and small business owner working with Minnesota business owners as a consultant for the past several years. She also works as a civil process server on the side on occasion.
In the past, Chris worked for Lakeland Public Television, a PBS affiliate in Brainerd. Prior to that, Chris counselled Brainerd area teens and for several years worked as a counselor at Sierra Tucson, trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, helping veterans, healthcare professionals and high-profile clients struggling with addictions and/or overcoming PTSD issues and other past traumas.
Chris is also a past Distinguised President and Regional Lt. Governor of Kiwanis International, having taught instruction to new club Presidents across three states. She was named Kiwanian of the Year in 2004.
Chris is is a past President of the Rosenmeier Center for State and Local Government in Brainerd, MN., past PR Chair for the Minnesota Voters Alliance, past charter board member for the Lakes Area Kids Against Hunger facility in Nisswa. past board member of the Crossing Arts Alliance, past Chamber Ambassador for the Brainerd Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, past Sertoma member, and has volunteered for the Crisis Line, the Salvation Army, the Lakeshore Conservation Club, Brainerd Public Schools Foundation and more.
Chris is an alumni of Central Lakes College (formerly Brainerd Community College) and St. Cloud State University where she majored in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies.
